The Daily Mile Track Opening - Monday 27 September 2021
28 Sep 2021
On Monday afternoon Hampton College Primary Phase officially opened their wonderful Daily Mile track, making the most of the sunshine and completing a fun run to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was a magnificent event which brought our school family together with smiles on faces and determination to do their best.
The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running or jogging – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. We want the very best for our children at Hampton College Primary Phase and strive to give every child the opportunity to do The Daily Mile at school.
Chair of Governors, Phil Smith said “It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to open the Hampton College Primary Phase Daily Mile track on Monday 27th September. We were incredibly fortunate that the weather brightened throughout the day to give us clear and sunny skies to formally open the track with a fun run.
After such a turbulent time due to COVID-19, it was delightful to see all of the children and staff beaming with happiness and able to enjoy this wonderful new facility. Following a smile-packed afternoon, the Daily Mile track will continue to bring happiness, enhancing and enriching recreation time, PE Lessons and fun runs.
In addition to the potential future Olympians we had sprinting around the track, I was so very PROUD to see children displaying determination to complete their run, or working in partnership to support and show understanding to those who may have found the running more of a challenge – upholding the very ethos of Hampton College Primary Phase.”
